Why can’t I have conversations about race in person the way I can online?

- Because I still worry about everyone’s fucking fee fees except my own.

- Because white people like to pretend they are more “logical” when they are arguing from a position that centralizes their cultural perspective.

- Because I don’t remember every statistic, quote and/or article so people can ignore me.

- Because if my every statistic, quote and/or article isn’t co-signed by a white person, it’s considered biased.

- Because apprehension about white people based on my actual experiences with racism are dismissed as prejudice and/or reverse-racism.

- Because getting loud, cursing or slapping someone isn’t considered an acceptable response.

- Because a bitch gets tired and doesn’t want to explain shit in real life after explaining shit for days online.

- Because I get incredibly depressed and angry.

- Because I can’t believe the conversation is actually happening and I’m in shock.

- Because “Everyone Is A Little Bit Racist” is used as a closing argument.

- Because no matter what strategy I use to explain myself, there is apparently a better one.

Not sure where I was going with this…

Except to bed.

I’m going to bed.

Fuck it.

Dominique Saatenang is not just any Kung Fu master. He is the first African and fourth non-Chinese to join the Shaolin Temple in China and to become its worldwide ambassador. This African Bruce Lee is now featured in a documentary film about 10 Africans, who were selected by Saatenang, to train at Shaolin. Saatenang hopes the experience will not only be enriching for these young men but also open the door to cultural exchange.

This is an appreciate post for all the brown people with too much ego. The ones who learned the rules and made their own. The ones who know they are the shit and walk like past haters like a boss.

Swag.

Juice.

Game.

Shine.

Whatever you call it, keep it going.

‘Cuz if I’m the only one in my fan club, I gotta keep the party going.

My Blu Tinted Glasses: Why Azealia Banks excites me: -

sorryexcuseforasociallife:

Of the many new rap acts, I consider Azealia Banks uniquely talented. Here’s why:

Her understanding of rhythm.
In “212,” Banks doesn’t just rap over the beat, but in it, engaging in a dialogue with the music, asserting different vocal tempos and timing…

“So much of our time, energy, and attention is wasted trying to convince other people how wrong they are about us. People have a right to think whatever they choose to think. Just because they think it does not make it right.” —

- Iyanla Vanzant

A lesson I’m learning in all facets of my life currently.
